Focused, time-boxed test prep for students with a specific SAT or ACT date coming up. Score movement typically 50–120 points in 6–10 weeks.
Not our headline offering — but a real product for families who need it. 100% refund on the diagnostic if it isn't a fit.
Most of what we do is course-based semester coaching — a student in Algebra 2 or Pre-Calc, coached across the whole course from real understanding to test-day fluency. That's our main lane, and it's what we lead with.
SAT and ACT math prep is a different animal. It's time-boxed (usually 6–10 weeks before a specific test date). It's pattern-heavy (a small library of question types the test recycles). And it's score-focused — success is measured by one number changing.
We offer it because it's a real need for families with test dates on the calendar, and because the "AI-off practice under real conditions" method we use for everything else applies especially cleanly to a proctored, no-calculator-on-part exam.
The SAT Math section is famously coachable because the question patterns repeat. Every SAT ever released draws from a stable inventory of ~8 question types, and if you internalize how each is structured, speed and accuracy both jump.
Students who identify their weakest 3–4 patterns and drill those specifically move 50–120 points in 6–10 weeks. Students who study passively — reading review books, watching videos, using AI-assisted "practice" — typically move 10–30 points.
Our related blog post covers the specifics: SAT Math: the 8 question types that move the score most.
8 coached sessions plus 2 full-length proctored practice tests over an 8-week window. Diagnose, drill the weakest question types, retest, refine.
Starting point: Two SAT attempts, both around 590 Math. Strong overall student but running out of time on Module 2. Parents ready to try structured prep.
What worked: the score was capped by two specific question types — systems involving a quadratic and a line, and function-notation problems. We drilled the two problem types to fluency, then rebuilt pacing through timed sections. Final score: 720 on the March SAT.
Students who follow the method (AI-off practice, weekly coached sessions, honest self-scoring, two full mock tests) typically move 50–120 points on SAT Math over 6–10 weeks. Some move more; a few move less. Score movement depends heavily on starting point, time commitment, and how far the student is from the ceiling of their current understanding.
Depends on the student. The SAT tends to reward careful reasoning and time management; the ACT tends to reward pattern recognition and speed. If your student hasn't chosen, we can help them take a diagnostic for each and pick based on which score is more improvable.
Depends on the schools. Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, MIT, and Georgetown reinstated SAT/ACT requirements for 2025+ admissions. Many other competitive schools remain test-optional but treat strong scores as a positive signal. For any competitive CS or STEM program, a strong math score still helps.
Yes. Regular math coaching is course-based semester work — understanding Algebra 2 or Pre-Calc deeply, from real fluency to grade improvement. SAT/ACT prep is time-boxed, pattern-heavy, and specifically about moving one score number. Both are valid, but they're different products.
