Who We Coach

The student who's stuck. Not stuck because they're not capable, but because something in the foundation never quite clicked - and now they're struggling with more advanced concepts.

Fractions never made real sense, so ratios feel impossible. Integers never got automatic, so algebra feels random. Derivatives and integrals feel like made up concepts.

The homework grade is fine because the pattern is familiar, but the test requires a deeper understanding, and there's no ground to stand on.

Who We Are

Over 27 years in various technical engineering and leadership roles where data analytics, statistics, modeling, and automation are daily functions.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in Telecommunications, and several data science, machine learning, and AI licenses in recent years.

The person friends and family ask when their child needs help in math — long enough that turning it into structured coaching made sense.

Our Philosophy

Three things we're passionate about:

1. Start where the gap is, not where the syllabus says. If a foundation is shaky, everything built on it will eventually fall. In engineering that's a bug. In a student's math journey it's a wall — usually hit in Algebra II, Pre-Calc, or the SAT. Fixing it early is much easier than fixing it late.
2. Understanding beats memorization every time. Conceptual understanding must come first before a student becomes fluent in a topic. Knowing the "Why" helps create the foundation for executing the "How". We enjoy sharing real world engineering applications to bridge the "Why" and "How" together.
3. AI is a tool, not a shortcut. We use AI daily for professional engineering work and personal work. But when students use AI to substitute for their own thinking or to simply answer a homework problem, understanding never gets built. Test scores are the eventual signal that something went wrong and typically shows up later in the math journey if not addressed.

How We Work With Families

Every engagement starts with a paid $99 diagnostic — 60 minutes of real problem work plus a written 2-page report identifying exactly which foundational gaps are showing up in the current course. Refundable within 48 hours if not a fit. Credit the full $99 toward any semester package if you enroll within 7 days.

We coordinate directly with parents on scheduling, session summaries, and monthly progress reports. Students do the actual work. We never contact minors without a parent present.

We don't bill for time you don't use, and we'll tell you honestly when a package isn't the right fit for where your student is.

Availability and Locations

Online via Zoom with shared whiteboard. Sessions typically run weekdays after 5pm Eastern and weekends.

What We Don't Do

We don't teach to the next test if the foundation isn't there. Cramming for Friday's quiz won't fix what's actually wrong.

We don't do homework help. Parents can hire a homework helper for $30/hr. If that's what your student needs, we'll tell you honestly and point you elsewhere.

We don't take on more students than we can coach well. Small numbers, deep work.
